The Hungry Little Catter-pickle

Caleb's home-bound teacher was really into gardening and caterpillars. She brought a couple of Monarch butterfly eggs and caterpillars to show the boys a while ago. Of course the boys asked if they could have a "catter-pickle."She gave them each one and told us how to take care of them. Who knew that Monarch caterpillars only eat milk week?! I remember finding caterpillars as a child and we would put them in a glass jar with grass!
Of course we didn't have any milk week in our yard/neighborhood, but we did find some at Scout Lake Park! Not sure if it was legal to take some, but we did. :)
Here's a picture of one of them in the beginning. I forgot to take a picture when she first gave them to us...they were much smaller, almost hard to see on the leaf.

One day when we were giving them more leaves, we noticed that we had 3 new additions! They must have been on the leaves from Scout Lake Park!

Here's a series of pictures I took as they got bigger. It was AMAZING how much they ate as they got bigger! And how fast they grew!

One of the chrysalis!

They were SO excited when each of them came out of their chrysalis!  They liked that they had "suction cups" on their "feet" and liked to hang onto their hands. So fun!

Isaac's last day of school

Gosh I am so behind!  I need to get caught up becasue this is the boys' scrapbook!

Isaac had his last day of school on June 1st.  Grammie stayed with Caleb so I could help in Isaac's class.  He is SO much more social than Caleb was.  He plays with everyone.  It's amazing to see how different his personality is at school verses at home.  Nothing upsets him at school...he doesn't cry when someone takes something from him or when he doesn't like what the snack is.  At home is a completely different story.  EVERYTHING sets him off and he cries and throws fits all the time, usually over nothing.  We are working on it, but it doesn't seem to be getting better.  I am just happy that he can hold it together at school!

Anyway, of course I had to take a million pictures since I missed his first 6 months of school!

The real deal!

You may remember me writing about our 1940's sprinkler that the boys used to love.  They never cared that it didn't always work right or that there are WAY cooler sprinklers on the market.  Anytime they can play in water, they will definitely have fun.  Here's a picture from last summer:

We recently celebrated their "half" birthdays with Joel's family.  The boys were SO excited that they got a brand new slip and slide and "cool" sprinkler!  They had so much fun trying them out the night after the party!

SO much better!
