FINALLY.....

......some nice weather!! It's a bit strange going from 40's to 90's, but we'll take it! We are loving playing outside!

Who needs fancy-smansy? Nothing better than running through an old-school sprinkler!  (Especially when it's in your undies, socks and crocks!!)

We are loving our lilac bushes! Our house smells SO good, especially with the breeze from our OPEN windows!

Today the boys wanted to go for a bike ride, but Caleb didn't want to "go around the block again." So, we drove to one of the trails by our house. We won't be doing that on a humid, 88 degree morning, again anytime soon! Caleb did okay until we were almost back to our car. Isaac on the other hand, was done before we even started. I made him ride "all the way" to the river, but ended up having to lug his bike all the way back, and wait for his every other minute tantrums he had!

Put me in coach!

It's baseball mania around here. If it's nice outside, we are out playing baseball. I am so tired of pitching. They both continue to impress us with their skills. Caleb is still really good at hitting, but Isaac is sure giving him a run for his money! Caleb has also gotten really good at catching the ball with his glove. His hitting and catching abilities amaze me because he is SO clumsy. The kid can't run without falling down and still runs into door jams/cracks his head in our house.

They are constantly asking to go to the "real baseball field." They think it's so cool to run around the "bases" even though they aren't really there. Isaac always stops at 3rd base so Caleb can hit him in. And of course Caleb always hits home runs, but when he gets to home plate, Isaac is waiting and they slap high-fives. So cute.

Franklin's t-ball starts up soon and Caleb is refusing to play. I think that he was too overwhelmed last year. It was extremely unorganized and chaotic...not a good combo for a kid with anxiety. We aren't pushing it, but are hoping that someday he'll want to play on a team. Of course Isaac wants to play, but isn't old enough yet.

Doesn't IZ look so grown up??!!

And just to let you know, Caleb's blood tests results have been sent to Texas.  I am hoping to hear from them this week.

Memory like an Elephant**

Caleb LOVES baseball. He also has a great memory and usually doesn't forget something after he's seen/heard it one time. This doesn't always work in our favor as he's always quick to remind us if we've promised him we could get or do something. I am hoping that this super-sonic memory will help him when he actually has to learn new things when he goes to kindergarten....

Here's a video of Joel "quizzing" Caleb on what numbers the Brewers players wear.  (He also knows the numbers of A LOT of players from other teams.)

Up close and personal

Wow. The weather here has been so strange. Two days ago it was 90 degrees and today we'll be lucky if we see 50. The other day we were playing outside in the AM wearing shorts and a t-shirt and by lunch we were wearing jeans and coats and then back to shorts again in the evening.

Anyway, we were able to go to the zoo during one of the nice days this week. We usually go in the AM, but one of Caleb's friends has school in the AM so we went in the afternoon. The animals were all out and very active. (In the mornings, we are lucky if they open their eyes!) It was near feeding time for the lions and tigers. They were pacing back and forth waiting. The boys thought it was great to see them so close! It actually looked like they were touching these huge animals. So cool!  I kept wondering how thick the glass really is...,,,

Mother's Day Cookbook

One of the Mother's Day projects Caleb's class did this year was make a "Mother's Day Cookbook."  Their teachers asked them each to give their own recipe for the book and then wrote down word-for-word what they said.  They are all really, really funny and cute.  Here's Caleb's:
-------------------------------------------
Caleb Teisl's Whipped Ice Cream

Ingredients:
ice cream-mint chocolate chip
whipped cream
napkins

Directions:
Take the ice cream out of the freezer.  Then we squirt it with whipped cream.  Now we cook it in the oven at 150,000 degrees for 100 minutes.  When it's done, we put it in a bowl and we eat it!  Use napkins.
--------------------------------------------------------
Crack.me.up.  This IS one of his favorite things to eat when he's at his Grammie's house.  Probably because she lets him squirt the whipped cream out and he always ends up with 6 times more cream than actual ice cream.  We don't however put it in the oven!  What a little joker!

Hijacked

I am sure some of you tried to log in today and it said "This blog has been deleted" and thought that my blog was gone.  The same thing happened to me and I am sitting here in tears thinking it was gone for good. After some investigating, I found out that someone tried to hack into my account, so blog spot shut it down.  After even more panicking, it's finally fixed now....I think.

I have heard there's a way to print out your blog into a book.  I don't think it's cheap, but after this, I think I should have it done.  This is where I have put all of our memories and documented the last 3.5 years of our lives.  (My boys don't have scrapbooks or baby books.)  I would be devastated if my blog was really gone.....

Happy belated Mother's Day!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the wonderful mommies in my life! I had to work all weekend, so there wasn't much time spent with my lovies. But they did their annual flower shopping trip while I was gone and each picked a couple of beautiful plants/flowers for me. They are always so excited about picking out their own to give me and each year the plants seem to get bigger and bigger!  I have always wanted hydrangeas, and that's what Caleb picked out for me this year!  I wish I was more of a green-thumb....then maybe I could keep these precious plants alive.

A lot of these pictures are already on here, but here's our annual picture book we give my mom for Mother's Day.
