Today was a pretty sad day. We said goodbye to our house that we've lived in for the past 8 years. Joel and I put a lot of heart and soul into that house. It's the house we brought both of our babies home to. Lots of good memories.
But every season comes to an end. We have outgrown our "starter house." We never intended on staying as long as we have, and we are finally at a place in our lives that we are ready to move on. We got an offer on August 17th, one way too good to pass up. The catch? We had to be out by September 19th. After a mad dash to look at houses, we were very disappointed in what we saw. So we still do not have a new house to call home. We also have been unable to find an apartment, which is making things a tad bit interesting. They don't rent month to month around here. Crazy, huh? We are hoping to find a house soon, but do not want to settle on something we really don't like.
For now, we will be living with Joel's parents and are praying that something comes up. When we left our house tonight, Caleb was HYSTERICAL! He was SO sad about leaving. He was coming up with a bunch of one-liners in between his sobs. Here's a sample of what I heard driving 15 minutes to Joel's parent's house.
*Goodbye bestest yard ever, I will miss you!
*You were the yard that I took my first steps on!
*I will never forget playing football games and baseball games on my bestest yard.
*This is like losing your best friend.
*I will NEVER have a yard like you again.
*I don't want to leave you yard, I will never forget you!
*I will never forget driving down this driveway one last time.
The part about his first steps, sort of made tears in my eyes. But when he said it's like he's losing his best friend, I busted out laughing. He is a little drama king. And he was STILL upset when we got there! Caleb has never been good with change or the unknown, and this is a HUGE change and unknown for him right now poor guy!
You can tell in the pics that Caleb was crying. Praying that we find an even better yard (although it will be very hard to top!), so Caleb can have his baseball and football fields again!
