He was born with very dark hair. It was thick and he also had a lot of dark hair covering his body. His skin was very dark too. We called him little monkey. He's about 4 weeks old in this picture.
This is when he was a little over 3 months old...thanks to being on an apnea monitor, he got to sleep on his tummy and keep his beautiful dark hair!
As he got a bit older, his hair started looking orange/red!
And then he lost most of it!
When it started growing back, it looked orange/red again! (1st birthday)
As it got longer, it got a bit darker and was no longer red. This is a before (top)/after (bottom) first hair cut picture!
In the summers, he was definitely a blondie!
He pretty much kept the same hairstyle until his transplant. The longer bangs are to cover up the two scars on his forehead. :)

Since he was going to lose his hair from the chemo, we let him get a "buzz" cut before leaving for Texas!
His chemo/ bone marrow transplant made all of his hair fall out. He was so upset about it (thumbs down!!) But I think he had a perfect bald little head!
His hair started coming in snow-white...just like Joel had when he was little.
That white hair didn't last long and it started coming in very dark (and covering his whole body again.) This is called "cyclosporine hair" and it is from his anti-rejection medication. ALL the kids in the BMT clinic looked like him because they are all on that med!
When it really started growing, it came in straight...
.....but as it got longer, it got CURLY!!
And now his hair is really dark with tight curls! (And his skin is still dark from the first chemo he received. It looks like that will be permanent. Doesn't he look Hispanic next to Isaac?!)
